“A date which will live in infamy.” Those are the famous words of President Franklin Roosevelt after the sudden and deliberate attack on Pearl Harbor during World War II. On September 11, 2001, our nation was again viciously attacked by a sleeping enemy and changed America forever. This is especially true for ALL “First Responders.”
When our nation was attacked, many Americans from diverse backgrounds, tragically lost their lives. While many ran to escape the horrible chaos, there were those who ran towards it. America’s First Responders. Fire Fighters, Police Officers, Paramedics, Doctors, Nurses and many others put themselves in harm’s way to saves the lives of others. They sacrificed while the world watched in shock and awe. Their selfless actions will live forever in our hearts and minds.
As we entered the beginning of a new decade, 2020, once again America and the World was attacked. This time the enemy was invisible but brought the world to its knees. While the rest of the world were called to “stay home” and “stay inside,” once again First Responders and front line workers answered the call. They continue to stand in the face of evil and many, many have lost their lives to save others.
Time and time again First Responders and front line workers in America and around the world are called to run toward danger, and time and time again they answer that call. First Responders, Medical Personnel, Scientists, Truck Drivers, Grocers and every other profession that stand in the gap to save others, this is your time to be recognized and honored.
